can you arbitrate anything?

pretty much. that does not mean that you should, though.

arbitration can be expensive. parties are usually encouraged to try to work together + see if they can resolve their issue themselves before proceeding to arbitration. in many situations, it is better to try to mediate first before moving ahead with arbitration.

there are also sometimes challenges in getting the process going. it is usually most efficient if the parties involved in a conflict can agree on not only an arbitrator but also what exactly they want the arbitrator to decide. while arbitration can still come together when that is not the case, cost + time are added in circumstances of that nature that warrant parties experiencing conflict to communicate with one another rather than focusing only on arbitration.
