can you mediate anything?

no. there are some situations where mediation is not appropriate + others where you would be better off with another mediator.

mediation is all about collaboration + self-determination. in some situations, there may be concern that one party may unfairly coerce another into a settlement that is not really their best option.

the self-determination aspect of mediation also means that it cannot guarantee a settlement. if a situation must be addressed urgently - such as if a dangerous situation exists - mediation may not be your best bet.

different mediators have different styles + different areas of expertise. while i can help in a broad range of situations, there are some where you are better off considering a different mediator. for example, anyone mediating a family law matter should have specialized training in family law. i do not, so am not comfortable taking on family disputes.
